Finding me on the web

There was a good article in the recent Costco Connection about how to get your website noticed. I took advantage of several of their tips and submitted my blog site to Google, Yahoo!, Bing and dmoz.org (the Open Directory Project). Then I tried to "meta tag" my blog but I am afraid html code is way above my current level of understanding. Then I took advantage of the new fonts available through Blogger. Last, I messed around with key words but didn't really get anywhere.

If any of you have suggestions on how to improve my blog's visibility, I'd be open to hearing them. What do you think of the new fonts?

  1. The only one I have is that I comment on the blogs of others, and these comments attract new readers. However, you'll see that I have a pretty small group of commenters. I'm not very tech savvy either.

  2. Hi Jill! I just stumbled across you blog in the past week and have included it in my blog list over at http://prayeatlovelaugh.blogspot.com.

I've been blogging for over 3 years and have found registering at Blogged and with Blog Catalog to be great resources. You should also consider signing up for free accounts at Wellsphere, Navigating Cancer and the American Cancer Society's Cancer Survivor's Network. When you register - include your blog as part of your profile and you can even submit it as a Resource on some pages. Any questions....just contact me.

Your blog is great, by the way! Love it! Thank you for sharing your life with all of us. You are such an inspiration :)

Hate to say it, but I don't think the new font is what one could call ADA friendly. I find it hard to read. As far as getting your blog noticed, can't help there. All I know about blogs is how to read them.

Hi Jill, I love checking in on your blog, it's inspirational. The suggestions on how to get it more visibility have been good. I did want to let you know that the new fonts you selected are really making it hard to read. They are very large on my screen and so I only get about six words per line on the postings and the list on the right displays even bigger. Topics like 'Little girl has breast cancer' take up three lines. The labels section is fun and works well, but the archive list also extends way below the posts now. Just want to be helpful as I love what you're doing!
