I've been off Xeloda for four days, and did indeed make it through all the Folklife happenings with plenty of energy. Sadly, my hands are worse: my left thumb and forefinger in particular are peeling layers of skin, are painful and dry. Even the Neutrogena Norwegian hand cream isn't helping enough. I think I will go back to using henna tonight.
My feet are the usual ouchy from neuropathy and Hand-Foot Syndrome.
That's all. Off the take a nap!

Jill: My heart goes out to you for the epic battle you are fighting against BC METS. I've been looking at lots of cancer blogs lately, trying to answer nagging questions that have remained with me for years since my mother battled breast cancer. She won and has largely moved on, but I remain dissatisfied with both the state of breast cancer research and especially saddened by the lack of effective treatment options for patients like you dealing with METS. Doesn't it seem like decades of research should have come up with something better than the status quo? I'm always on the lookout for fresh thinking that questions even the most basic assumptions about cancer. Your blog is great, so please keep up the good work and I hope your health improves! -- Sherman Morrison
