Elizabeth Edwards gravely ill with cancer

I just learned that Elizabeth Edwards' cancer has become much more active. It appears she has liver metastases which no longer respond to treatment.

Having been faced with liver mets for the first time this summer, I can understand the seriousness of her condition. I am thankful that my liver mets are stable now and hopefully will respond to the high dose Faslodex.

I believe Mrs. Edwards is entitled to privacy about her illness, and hope that the news media will respect that as they continue to report on her situation.

In the meantime, she is in my thoughts.
